One-Hundred-One-Year-Old Pastry Recipe | submitted by Marie
January 25th, 2007
This recipe calls for lard, making this crust the most tender and flaky. The shortening is cut into the flour, and then spoonfuls of a mixture of ice water, egg and vinegar are worked in. The dough is then formed into a ball and rolled out on a floured board.
Honey Mustard Beer Brats | submitted by RicochetRabbit
January 25th, 2007
This recipe is very easy and makes delicious bratwurst. My guests always ask for these during football season. You won't be able to get enough onions and peppers in the slow cooker because every time we make them, we run out! This recipe is for 10. If you have a very large slow cooker, you can get 15 in, but most can only hold 10 (you may need another slow cooker if making more).

Apple Rosemary Pork Tenderloin | submitted by Bob Myers
January 25th, 2007
This roast is by far the best tenderloin recipe I've ever made. The sweetness imparted from the gravy and the apple flavor is quite different from what is typically expected from a pork roast. The apple and onion mixture cooked with the roast makes an excellent side dish with a little of the gravy over the top.

An aromatic simmer of garlic, tomatoes and parsley in olive oil and butter forms the base for this sensationally easy pasta dish. Add canned clams at the last minute and toss with freshly boiled linguine pasta.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp | submitted by stacy candlish
January 25th, 2007
You 'll need a grill, twenty jumbo shrimp and some bacon. That 's about it, except for the toothpicks that hold the bacon tightly onto the shrimp. This makes a perfect meal or appetizer.

Party Hit Creamy Pumpkin Soup | submitted by Weavre Cooper
January 25th, 2007
This incredible creamy soup was the surprise favorite at our 2000 Halloween party. Better yet, it's really easy to make - and beautiful, served in its own attractively carved pumpkin-bowl, with a seasonal ribbon tied through the 'hat' to make a handle. This 'definitely' belongs on the holiday table again! If you're going to multiply the recipe but want to serve in one bowl, get a bigger pumpkin rather than more little ones.
Cholay (Curried Chickpeas) | submitted by Shammi Edwards
January 25th, 2007
This is a very flavourful recipe from North India, usually eaten with fried bread like bhatura or puri. I like to serve it over rice for a very filling meal. You can also try it as a quick snack over toasted bread. This recipe is much quicker to make if you use precooked canned beans, but I like to think that the authentic flavour comes from doing it the hard way!
