A pink cake with pineapple and nuts. This is a traditional favorite. It’s very pretty too! It tastes great with cream cheese icing and coconut sprinkled on the top.
A classic Scandinavian hot spiced wine punch served with raisins and almonds. This will surely take the bite off those cold winter nights. Flaming the brandy is optional.
A simple baked persimmon pudding with just a hint of cinnamon. This recipe was found in my grandma’s recipe box. I made it for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit!
This is a great pasta that can be eaten at room temperature or as a cold salad. Instant, sophisticated meal or side dish! And colorful, too. Any type of twisty or unusually shaped pasta works well.
This is an unusual cheesecake that is absolutely wonderful. If you’re going all out, track down real gianduja chocolate and mascarpone cheese. If that seems too expensive, then use semi-sweet chocolate and a good cream cheese, but don’t forget the hazelnut liqueur! It’s delicious and decadent. Serve in small pieces.
An easy lemon quick bread perfect for a cold winter morning.
A basic thick cheesecake. Serve with your favorite fruit topping.
An easy recipe for homemade peppermint liqueur. It goes great with hot chocolate!
I made this once for a family gathering and now everyone insists that it be at every gathering! It’s so easy; you use a box cake mix! For chopping the chocolate bars, I put them in the freezer, then hit them with a hammer while still in the wrapper
We like a buffet with all the family here. We serve a variety of salads. This is also great for summer picnics and cookouts. Keeps well, and serves a lot of people. Originally submitted to ThanksgivingRecipe.com.
Wonderful served warm with vanilla ice cream.
This pungent garlic, basil, and tomato sauce will delight the senses. The goat cheese is the perfect creamy complement to an already delightful dish!
This cheesecake is creamier than most cheesecakes, and very easy to make. Use grated lemon zest or 1 teaspoon lemon extract for flavoring.
A graham cracker crust is filled with a decadent mixture of cream cheese, sugar, eggnog and a hint of rum. Garnish with whipped cream and colored sugar, if desired.
Won 3 blue ribbons. Frost and fill with favorite icing.
A sweet spicy sauce or glaze meant to complement any light protein. For example you could squirt it on chicken, yellow fin tuna, sea bass, or sword fish.
This is a great version of the traditional mustard based bbq sauce. Most sauces are ketchup based, but in the South we prefer the mustard variation. You oughta try it at least once.
This is an old Italian recipe for a pie with a sweet crust–just like from the old country. My in-laws are Italian and they say that this is the best pie. It is always requested for Christmas. Mini chocolate bits and lemon rind can be mixed into the batter.
Habanero chili peppers heat up this sensational barbecue sauce for a dynamite chicken wing dish.
A layered brownie treat with chocolate chips, chocolate covered caramels and crunchy bits of toffee.
This is a family favorite. It is a moist, delicious cake with just a hint of sherry. This cake does not need frosting. Try out the varied combinations too.
Spicy, with the tang of vinegar, lots of garlic and a very full flavor.
This is a very old recipe and it seems like there are a lot of ingredients, but it is worth the effort. I use the extra whipping cream to decorate the top of the cheesecake.
